Introducing Ruby

Ahhh, I love the Holmes family and have had the privilege of photographing Ava, Riley, and now Ruby. I just love this name, by the way. Ruby’s mom and dad are great stylists for their photo sessions and whenever we plan a shoot, I know they will have awesome props and backdrops. This time was no different! Love the little crib that Ruby’s great-granddad made.  Here are my favorites:

Ryan Families

I met Karen a few years ago when she was a guest at a wedding I photographed. We reconnected when Karen wanted to plan a photo shoot for her family when they were all going to be in town together. It went so well, we planned another shoot for her husband’s side of the family over the holidays. Both families were so much fun to work with and everyone involved with the holiday shoot were amazingly brave because we shot almost everything outside along Lake Erie’s shore in December! It was quite cold, but everyone really did a great job looking as warm as possible! Thank you so much, Karen and families! I had a great time! Here are my favorites:

Schneider Family

Jen and Mitch have two super cute boys and two crazy and cute pugs. We had a fun indoor session at their home this fall. The boys did great and the dogs were hilarious. I just love puppies with smooshy faces! Thanks for a fun afternoon, everybody! Here are my favorites from the session:

Folger Family

I met Alli and Kevin at church and have had several opportunities to work with them. From designing their wedding programs and signage, to photographing their beloved dogs and babies, I’ve been blessed to get know them both. Here is the beautiful Folger family:

Riley’s First Birthday Party

I’ve had the great privilege to document some important milestones for the Holmes’ family and I was thrilled to be asked back to photograph sweet Riley’s first birthday party! Riley’s parents, Jennifer and Jonathan, know how to host and style a beautiful event, and this one was no different. Not only that, but the party was recently featured on the party-inspiration website, Hostess With The Mostess. Riley’s party theme was The County Fair and the details were awesome! Jonathan and Jennifer also celebrated the Korean first birthday tradition, Dol (or doljanchi), where Riley was placed in front of  objects such as a musical instrument, money, pencils, and food. She was then encouraged to pick up an object that would foretell her future.  Scroll down to see what Riley’s future holds! Here my favorites from the day:

I know, girlfriend! I felt the same way when I had to put on my hanbok (traditional Korean dress)!

Riley chose food! She will never be hungry!

The Holmes Family

I love the Holmes Family! I’ve had the privilege of photographing their growing family starting with little Ava and now including Riley. At the end of this shoot, when I got to hold Riley for a bit, I knew we were kindred spirits because she held onto me by holding my cheeks. I grew up having my cheeks pinched to death and it looks Riley will suffer the same fate. Both Ava and Riley are so stinkin’ cute…I can’t stand it! Here’s a quick shoot we did this fall:

Kelly and Meghan’s Mother-Daughter Session

Kelly, and her beautiful daughter, Meghan, decided to celebrate their great mother-daughter relationship with a family portrait session of the two of them. I love that these two sweet and strong women wanted to create some lasting memories of this special time in their lives. Thank you so much for the opportunity to capture the love you two obviously share! Here are some favorites from the session:

The McAlvey Family

Ah, I love the McAlveys! It was a great privilege and a ton of fun to meet up with family unit at Sunny Lake Park in Aurora for fun family session. We a great time playing on the swings and teeter-totters and even squeezed a few family group shots when the boys decided it was okay! Thanks a great afternoon! Here are  my favorites:
