Elizabeth and Matt’s Wedding Celebration

Matt and Elizabeth celebrated a beautiful wedding earlier this summer at Parkside Church in Bainbridge, Ohio, with a super fun reception at Roses Run Country Club in Stow. We ended up with a beautiful day with some very dramatic clouds that threatened rain, and Elizabeth’s great bridesmaids came prepared with some cute umbrellas, but luckily the rain held off. We did a “first look” prior to the ceremony and had a few cute and curious spectators from the bridal party! The entire day was filled with beautiful details including Matt and Elizabeth’s first dance song which Matt had written and was performed by one of Matt’s groomsmen. It was a heartfelt and blessed day and it was a privilege to be a part of it. Thank you so much, Elizabeth and Matt!

Introducing Tommy

Proud mom and dad, Ruth and Tom, welcomed their first son, Tommy, Jr., in July of this year. We were able to schedule a shoot within a couple of weeks of Tommy’s birthday and had a great time. Unfortunately for the adults, it was during the massive heat wave, but newborn baby Tommy loved the heat! Thank you, Ruth and Tom, for the opportunity to photograph your family! It was wonderful to see you again! Here are my favorites:

Kings of Summer (a.k.a. Toy’s House)

Kings of Summer

Last summer, I had an amazing opportunity to work on a movie being filmed in and around the Cleveland-area. Opening in New York and LA today, The Kings of Summer, previously titled, Toy’s House, will open in Cleveland on June 7th. I had no idea what, if any, of the photos I took would be used by the film, so I was so excited to see that some of my shots made it into the movie poster and as promotional stills!

Here’s a description of the movie from the filmmakers:

Premiering to rave reviews at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, THE KINGS OF SUMMER is a unique coming-of-age comedy about three teenage friends – Joe (Nick Robinson), Patrick (Gabriel Basso) and the eccentric and unpredictable Biaggio (Moises Arias) – who, in the ultimate act of independence, decide to spend their summer building a house in the woods and living off the land. Free from their parents’ rules, their idyllic summer quickly becomes a test of friendship as each boy learns to appreciate the fact that family – whether it is the one you’re born into or the one you create – is something you can’t run away from.

Kings of Summer is truly a fun, and funny, movie that anybody should go see, but an added bonus to many local Clevelanders will be seeing all of the local places like Chagrin Falls, Lyndhurst, North Royalton, Parma, Berea, the Metro Parks, and more, featured in the movie.

Go see it!

Engaged! Michelle and Ryan

I met up with Michelle and Ryan at Trinity Cathedral in downtown Cleveland for their engagement session. Many thanks to Ginger Biterkofer with Trinity who gave us permission to shoot around the building. By the way, brides-to-be, be sure to contact Ginger if you want to have your wedding at this stunning venue. We had a great sunny day and Michelle and Ryan were up for anything. We ended the day down by a very windy Lake Erie on the East 9th Street Pier. Thanks for a fun session, Michelle and Ryan! I can’t wait for the wedding!

Victoria’s Senior Portraits

Victoria is girl after my own heart. I totally identified with her personality and we even share the habit of wanting to reorganize our rooms when we have free time. We hit it off and had a great session! Victoria’s super cute, energetic, and floppy puppy, Josie, joined us for awhile, too. Thank you so much, Victoria! I really enjoyed meeting you and I’ll be in touch soon! Here are my favorites:

Now I Get It!

Bill loves Godzilla. While I watched Godzilla movies when I was growing up, and I enjoyed watching them, I can’t say that I love them. Recently, I had the chance to document a building demolition and now I get it! Watching the destruction was strangely exhilerating! It was amazing to see such a solid structure just fold at the touch of the bulldozers. It was a surprisingly fun shoot! Here are my favorites:

Zoe’s Maternity Session

I photographed Zoe’s wedding in 2009. I was so excited to hear that she and Justin were pregnant and expecting their first baby! I was equally excited to hear that the baby was delivered the same evening of our shoot! That was quite a text, Justin! Zoe was radiant and we got the session done, literally, in the nick of time!

Sarah’s Senior Portraits

Sarah is her high school’s yearbook editor and she picked me to do her senior portraits! Ha, no pressure! I was super honored and Sarah and I had a great time together! Sarah has a beautiful smile and personality to match. I just loved spending time with her and her mom! A big thanks to Sarah’s family friends who let us shoot in their beautiful home just a few days after they recovered from the flu! Here are my favorites:
